Card wallet is a classic piece, artfully slender and handcrafted from Paiche (arapaima) leather- a sustainable alternative for your conscious choices.
It has been designed to share your journeys and amalgamate into your daily routine by easily fitting into your bag and pocket.
Constructed with a functional gusset, it extends enough to keep and safeguard your cash bills and receipts.
Our Peruvian Fish Leather is 100% sustainable since all the fish skin used is from fish market waste.
Eco-Friendly: Peruvian fish leather is treating without chrome normally used in all leather tanning process. The whole process in this leather is handcrafted and dyed with organic dyes.
The Paiche is a freshwater fish from the Amazon and this fish skin is truly exotic. The skin as used for leather has a shape roughly similar to a pair of trousers with a large, square-shaped body connected to two rear flanks. It has a plush and full body which gives it a beautiful hand feel.
But what the arapaima skin is best-known for is its scales, especially their size, unruly appearance and durability
The arapaima note is that “each scale is composed of two layers: a laminate composite of parallel collagen fibrils and a hard, highly mineralized surface layer.” In other words, each scale has a hard, armor-like surface and a soft, gel-like layer underneath that can absorb the force of an impact without breaking.
This makes for an incredibly durable, yet flexible leather.
